Baptism

We believe that baptism is a symbolic act representing a person’s union with Christ in his death and resurrection (Romans 6:1-7).  We believe a person should be baptized after they have made a public profession of faith in Jesus’ atoning death on the cross for their sins and their own spiritual rebirth through Jesus’ resurrection.  Baptism is a declaration that a person has trusted in and now follows Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This is commonly referred to as “Believer’s Baptism.”

Furthermore, we believe that the proper mode of baptism is by immersion in water.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?

As soon as you become a Christian by placing your faith in Jesus, we believe it's time for you to be baptized.

This is the first step toward showing the world that you've trusted God with your life and future.

WHEN CAN I BE BAPTIZED?

While we perform certain scheduled baptisms at key times in the year (Easter, Fall Launch, etc), if you're ready to be baptized, we can usually make special plans just for you in 1 to 2 weeks.

Click the link at the bottom of this page to let us know you're ready to take the next step toward baptism.

WHERE CAN I BE BAPTIZED?

The only real requirement for baptism is a body of water. We celebrate baptism in the pool behind the Blanchard Park YMCA and invite the whole church, friends, family, and community to join us.
